Spar Soap is made with powerful essential oils with natural antifungal and antibacterial properties. Our Platinum Bar uses the combined strength of lavender, clove, tea tree, rosemary, and cassia oils. Our Original Bar includes tea tree, lemongrass, and peppermint essential oils.
Take one look at the ingredients list of your typical soap products. It’s a scary paragraph of unpronounceable chemicals that might as well be in a different language. Many of these chemicals are unnecessary—they’re added just for scent or color.
But take a look at a Spar Soap ingredients label, and you’ll see a short list of friendly ingredients you can go find out in nature. Certain essential oils can prevent bacteria and fungus growth, and they can do it more safely than, for example, triclosan—a compound found in commercial cleaning supplies and can be detrimental to human health.

The key ingredients in the Original Bar are activated charcoal and rosemary, and it has more of a neutral scent. The key ingredients in the Platinum Bar include lavender and clove, which give it a sweeter scent. Both bars work great to combat fungal infections and keep skin healthy. Ringworm is a common fungal skin infection that plagues wrestlers, martial artists, and athletes. The infection appears as a circular, red, itchy rash. It spreads through direct contact with an infected person, gym mat, or other surface. Infected skin might feel scaly, raised, and itchy—this will typically last until it’s treated.
Ringworm is caused by the same fungus that causes athlete’s foot, jock itch, and fungal toenail infections. While it’s treatable by over-the-counter creams, it takes at least a week before you’re cleared to resume training. This uncomfortable skin infection can be prevented in many cases through the use of antifungal products, proper hygiene, and sterilization of equipment and mats.
